Co-Founder GSD&M, H2Orange
Founder & CEO MYTHOS + MINDMELD
Tim hails from what he calls the “Fruitcake Capital of the World,” the sleepy northeast Texas town of Corsicana. That doesn’t mean he’s nutty.
According to Southwest Airlines Chairman Emeritus Herb Kelleher, Tim is a “creative genius.” Kelleher jokes, “Tim is the very definition of an idiot savant — he’s still working on the savant part, but he’s got the idiot part down pat!”
Tim describes himself as “a recovering adman.” He created Don’t Mess With Texas, the most successful antilitter campaign in history; he authored the book Don’t Mess With Texas: The Story Behind the Legend; he wrote and produced Texas: The Big Picture, the first IMAX movie on the Lone Star State; and he and his GSD&M partner Steve Gurasich have recently launched H2Orange Texas Water, which funds academic scholarships to The University of Texas at Austin.
Tim is married and has three children. He is a former member of the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and the KLRU-TV Boards of Directors.
Tim graduated with honors in advertising from The University of Texas at Austin.
