The Black Angels is a psychedelic rock band from Austin, Texas. Formed in May 2004, the band’s name derives from the Velvet Underground song “The Black Angel’s Death Song.” Their 2014 Indigo Meadow marks the four-piece band’s fourth full-length release, which finds The Black Angels pushing the boundaries of contemporary psychedelic rock, simultaneously exalting the genre’s past and thrusting it further into the future. Indigo Meadow affirms The Black Angels’ full-throttle commitment to the psychedelic ethos of creativity, community and boundless experimentation.
