AUSTIN, Texas — July 31, 2012 — GSD&M announced today Elizabeth Thompson has been appointed UX strategy director within the agency’s Experience and Insights department. In this new role, Thompson will focus on bringing the overarching user experience more front and center in strategy and creative development across accounts.
Before being named UX strategy director, Thompson served as senior strategist on the U.S. Air Force and L.L.Bean accounts. Her other brand strategy experience at the agency has included working on BMW’s largest global brand launch in the company’s history as well as advancing digital and experiential efforts for Lennox and NAMCO BANDAI Games E3 presence. In addition, Thompson has led strategy development for various new business efforts.

Prior to GSD&M, Thompson served as senior brand planner at Mullen in Boston, where she put her strategic insights to work for brands like LendingTree and Panera Bread. Her other experience consists of a multifaceted stint at Austin-based creative boutique McGarrah Jessee that gave her an opportunity to contribute to every aspect of her clients’ businesses. Her work on national brands like Hyatt and Westin, combined with experience on regional “cult” brands, including Whataburger and Frost Bank, gave her a knack for organic and inventive planning that continues to serve her clients well.
She received a B.S. in advertising from The University of Texas at Austin.
