For 34 years, the Wright Amendment has restricted nonstop flights between Southwest Airlines’ home at Dallas Love Field and most destinations beyond Texas. Now thanks to the work of many, including a literal act of Congress, the Wright Amendment is set to expire October 13, 2014. Southwest has been counting down the days since last October with print, radio and several continually updating billboards outside Love Field. Now, the campaign is extending to TV with “All You Need is Love” as its rallying cry. Goodbye, Wright Amendment. Hello, America.
