SXSWeekend Recap: The Rain, The Tech, The Tweets

Howdy, y’all! The SXSurrogates have endured the unexpectedly rainy madness that is SXSWi 2012 weekend. In return, they’ve snagged some firsthand insight on all the great happenings around town. Although it’s only been three days, there has been a LOT going on and we’ve managed to keep up with the rigorous pace. Panels, parties, free food… you name it, we’re in on the action. All in all, it’s been one heck of a weekend and we have plenty to share! Here’s a recap through the eyes of those who took part:

Ellen Kolsto shares her account planning insight from Thursday’s Dachis Group Social Business Summit.

Have you seen the newest addition to Toyota’s repertoire – a Prius-inspired bicycle? Maria D’Amato gives us the scoop.

Jo-Ella Mathis caught Frank Abagnale, the subject of Catch Me If You Can, and his discussion on identity theft.

Gaming and journalism joined forces for Saturday’s panel Journalists Discuss the Future of Games, and Stuart Knowlan shares what’s in store for the future.

Exactly how much rain did we get? Elizabeth Brown documented it firsthand.

Oscar Llarena talks about how interactive platforms are attempting to change the way we host dinner parties (be sure to check out his awesomely supplemental Storify story line).

There’s still a few days left of the interactive madness, so be sure to stay tuned. Also, our annual Industry Party takes place tomorrow night with live music, artwork, food and refreshments. Come check out live performances from Heartless Bastards, The Apache Relay and Motopony while networking among industry professionals. It’s not too late to RSVP, so do it here!

Who’s our SXSurrogate pick of the day? Meet Dee Dee Swartz. She is not too busy Project Manager-ing it up at GSD&M, she is an avid supplier of sarcastic commentary and pics of weird Austin happenings. She’s caught some pretty cool panels already (like here and there), and we look forward to seeing what else she has to share throughout the week. Her Austin Trinity includes Chuy’s for the eats, Key Bar for the drinks, and Zilker Park for anything else you could possibly think of doing.

Until tomorrow…
