In the television category, LatinWorks’ “Mentor” commercial for Wrigley’s Skittles won one of the eight gold ADDYs handed out for the medium.
From the quirkiness of Ace Hardware’s “purple guys” television commercial to the elegance of an invitation to an LBJ gala, the work of dozens of local advertising teams were honored at the 2013 ADDY Awards ceremony Thursday night.
McGarrah Jessee, Proof Advertising, GSD&M and Sherry Matthews Advocacy Marketing were among the winners that brought home multiple awards. Click the photo to see this year’s “gold” winners.
After 481 entrants were judged, 134 awards were given out to large and boutique agencies, as well as students. In all, five Best of Show, three Special Judges, 38 Gold, 59 Silver and 37 Bronze ADDYs were awarded. A full list of winners is on the Ad Fed’s website. Many of the television commercials that won can be viewed on YouTube.
Winners will advance to compete at the regional ADDY competition held April 12 in Tulsa, Okla., and then possibly the national contest held June 8 in Phoenix. This year’s judges included Sean Adams, a partner at AdamsMorioka in Beverly Hills, Calif.; Anne Telford, editor-at-large of Communication Arts magazine; and Tim Guy, creative director at Google Inc. in San Francisco.
