SXSW 2012: That’s a Wrap!

Well everybody, SXSW has officially wrapped up. It’s time to let the Austin Exhaustion subside, although our SXSurrogates are back on the job today. In case you missed it, GSD&M sent out 54 of our people to SXSW Interactive, Music and Film as SXSurrogates to report back on various panels and events. We sure do work them hard, don’t we? All banter aside, it’s time to look back on some of the highlights they managed to capture during the Interactive, Music and Film segments of SXSW 2012.

Reagan Ward comments on the plethora of sponsorships and brand placements this year, notably the four-story tall Doritos vending machine stage at the corner of 5th and Red River.

Elizabeth Thompson took some time to reflect on the notable bunch of bands she caught during SXSWeekend.

What was everyone’s top 10 noteworthy moments of SXSW Interactive? Well, that’s certainly relative, but Emily Prevost offers some of her faves like Jane McGonigal’s session and the Cooking Channel party.

A quick word from Brent Holt on the Alabama Shakes.

The trade show was PACKED with vendors showcasing technology from other countries. Shoshanna Turek comments on her journey through the German, Japanese and Australian aisles.

If you haven’t had a chance to keep up with our Surrogates throughout the week, you can go here to catch all the blog posts and tweets from the front row of Austin’s biggest conference. Otherwise, until next year!
